Rathsrigg Rennington

To Remy

"You showed us your unconditional love, that we may learn from it. You showed us your perfect manners and elegant style ... this we will always remember.

You will always occupy a secure place in our hearts because you were so special. We will always try to honour your memory and continue the grace which you brought to us, your family. We are a family and you are a treasured member of it.

Rest peacefully now my friend. It is with the world’s weight in sadness that I lay you to rest. Now at the farm you lay, watching the rising sun. You can see the deer in the meadow, sleep under the old oak tree and be the first to greet the visitors. Your spirit waits for me at the Rainbow Bridge. We shall never forget you and shall visit you often.

No longer am I afraid of leaving this world. Now I know that you are there at the Bridge waiting for me. How joyous would be the day when we finally meet each other again and cross the Bridge together.

Until then dear Remy, play to your heart’s content with all God's creatures with you now.

Know that you are deeply loved and cared for.
Know that you have taught us and shown that you loved us.
     We miss you terribly
See you someday soon dear puppy"

Rathsrigg Rennington was born on March 16, 1997. He arrived in Canada on June 19, 1997. With his arrival came also the fulfillment of a dream I had for fifteen years, to have a Bedlington from England. He made us proud at the shows and but for three points would have already been a champion. Nevertheless, he was a champion in our hearts and a true ambassador for our wonderful breed.

Due to a tragic accident, Remy passed away instantly on November 28, 1997 at the tender age of 8½ months.

We would like to repeat our sincere gratitude for the absolute kindness and compassion shown to us by many of our colleagues around the world. Most especially to our friends Jane and George Wilks who shared our pain and allowed us to lay Remy to rest at the farm.

Many thanks also go to his breeders Ian and Margaret Phillips (Rathsrigg Kennels in the UK) for their understanding and sympathy. Our heart is warmed by these good people many times over. As a gesture of their trust in us and our future with the Bedlingtons, Ian and Margaret have agreed to send us another boy from their kennel. He will be arriving within the next couple of months.

     Thank you Ian and Margaret.
